If you would be interested in becoming involved, please let your child's teacher know what day of the month and time would work best for you.
Childcare will be provided.
Although we will not be able to accommodate all we will take into consideration the majority of responses.
Thank you for your response and support!
Dear Parents,
It’s hard to believe we just finished our third week of school and are half - way through the fourth. We’ve been working hard in the room and have expectations, routines, and practices in place.
Today, we took a check up or quiz in math. I also corrected the classroom practice pages for the first module. Students receive points for doing the practice pages. I am sending some more home. You can get an idea of their comprehension based on the answers. You can encourage additional practice by correcting any missed problems. If they have any unfinished pages they can complete them, and hand them in for additional credit. Our next module is addition and multiplication. We will practice in the classroom, and you can help your child by practicing facts and multiples at home.
Most of the students are doing a good job of bringing a water bottle to school. With additional exercise and changing temperatures, they need to stay hydrated. They are also doing a good job of dressing for the weather, which seems to be changing daily, ha!
I will share more information later. The class is shaping up nicely.:) I am enjoying working with another awesome group! Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I would be glad to talk or meet with you. You can write a note, call me at school (906) 337- 0443 ext. 1016, or send me an email wfreeman @copperislandacademy.org.
Have a wonderful evening!
Best regards,
Wendy Freeman
